She is a college student that just turned 21 and is currently training for the Chicago Marathon while trying to maintain a social life. Check out her suggestions for the best girly drinks to order at the bar in order to prevent a hangover the next morning.
- Marie Clair: Chic Cocktails for the Fashionista – recipes for girly drinks with yummy ingredients like rose water and champagne, kumquats and sake, or blueberries and vodka.
- Cosmo Radio: I love Cosmo Radio (Channel 111) on Sirius! Keisha, one of the hosts of Cosmo Radio, gives listeners a recipe for the Chic Cosmo Cocktail of the Week. Cosmopolitan Magazine lists the chic cocktails out.
- Yum Sugar: Yum Sugar and Party Sugar over at the Sugar Network, a fun blog catering to women, frequently list out cocktail recipes and happy hour drinks. Not always girly, but always fun!
- Cocktail Museum: The Museum of the American Cocktail is a nonprofit attraction, now located in New Orleans, that is dedicated to the history of the cocktail.
- Women Beer Drinkers Opt for Micro Brewery: The Folks over at Alley Kat Beer, a brewery in Canada, have come out with a Raspberry flavored beer. Described as a “champagne like carbonation,” the AlleyKat Raspberry Mead beer is pink and fruity.
- Scrumptious Sunday Fruity Drinks: Blogger Connie Wong gives us her recipe for a Lime Mango Sorbet recipe, complete with tequila.
- Hungry-Girl: I’ve featured Hungry Girl on Girly Drinks before, on National Martini Day. The Hungry Girl website regularly lists out high calorie foods and recipes and alternatives to make them healthier. They also list out cocktail recipes, such as the above link to their pina colada, with alternatives to make the drink with lower calories.
- Boudica: Boudica is a new social networking site catering to women – not necessarily related to girly drinks, although I did find links to the following two drink recipe lists (below). Chances are, if you’re reading Girly Drinks, you’ll enjoy Boudica.
- Six Most Fattening Summer Cocktails: Speaking of Hungry Girl and Boudica, where I found this link, Newsweek lists out the six most fattening summer cocktails. Tops on the list? The Margarita, Mudslide, and Pina Colada.
- 30 Days of Summer Drink Recipes: Good Housekeeping Magazine lists out 30 days worth of summer drink recipes. There are only a few cocktail recipes, including the mojito and frozen margaritas, but the smoothies and shakes sound great!
