Wow - thank you for visiting Girly Drinks again. Looks like you're a regular here. Do you have a signature cocktail recipe that you want to share? If so, contact us at staff@girly-drinks.com with an image and recipe and link (optional) so that you can be part of our site.
Ah, another week of Girly Drink Link Love. Silly name, but we have a ton of links that we discover each week, so we’re spreading the…love. Or something like that.
This week, I’m taking the time to make at least one new cocktail every night. Tonight, I’m starting with the Pear Martini, using Absolut Pear Vodka. It’s tasty!
To find out which links we’ve found this week, read more:
- Cocktails with a bite: The Chicago Times discusses the trends of exotic and spicy cocktails, including jalapeno, chili, cilantro and thyme inspired fusions.
- Brilliant Cocktails: Interested in learning – through video – how to make your favorite drink? Chris, a master mixologist, regularly posts “How To” cocktail videos via YouTube.
- Imbibe Magazine: A magazine that’s all about cocktails? Sweet, sign me up! Check out the Imbibe site for monthly featured cocktail recipes, including a cocktail named the Brazilian Wax. The editors promise this one won’t hurt…
- Spirits and Cocktails: Speaking of mixologists, Jamie is Seattle’s 2007 Bartender of the Year and now travels, finding gigs in cities across the country. Visit Jamie’s site to find the recipe for a Witch Doctor, a cocktail made with wine and rum.
- Cafe Press: I didn’t come up with this “I love girly drinks” design, although now I’m thinking of hundreds of ideas that could be printed on t-shirts. Hmm. This shirt is probably meant for a guy, but, whatever.
- Avocado Cocktail: I was reading YumSugar.com when I came across a recipe for an Avocado Cocktail. Sounds good, actually. The fact that I want to make this for my boyfriends birthday party, when he hates avocado (and all foods…such a picky eater), probably means we won’t last very long.
- Bartender Magazine: Another magazine, with this one catering to bartenders. Check out their recipe for a Marrakech Martini, courtesy of the Marrakech Hotel. Ah, hotel lounges.
- Text for Cocktails: Another site aimed at bartenders, but possibly useful to people at the bar, as well. Ever order a drink that you’ve only heard about, maybe from a friend, but don’t know what it’s made with and neither does the bartender? Text “Text for Cocktails” with the name of the drink and bartenders will text you back with the ingredients. Good deal!
- Boat Drinks: The guys on the boat ordered boat drinks…Jimmy Buffett is my hero. Seriously. Well, him and Donny Deutsch, but I digress. Check out the list of boat drinks from this writer who fancies himself a boat drinker.
- Wine Punch: I’ve featured Champagne Punch before, but not wine and vodka punch. Similar to Sangria, wine punch is a combination of wines and alcohols, as well as fruits, that forms a delicious wine cocktail that’s perfect for parties.
- Drinks After Dark: A site similar to Girly Drinks, the bloggers at Drinks After Dark feature cocktails with a feminine twist.
- Cork Recycling: The folks over at Blogaholics discuss cork recycling, a process that allows you to send in your corks from wine bottles and have them turned into products such as doormats.
