Friday, June 12, 2009 is International Cachaça Day. In celebration, why not try a cocktail that is made with Cachaça?

You may be familiar with the Caipirinha, but Cachaça can also be used in a variety of other recipes. If you’re a fan of the mojito or any tropical drink, you’ll definitely enjoy cachaça.

About International Cachaça Day:

International Cachaça Day was started by Sociedade Brasileira da Cachaça, a Brasilian government organization. It was created to commemorate June 12th, 1744: the day when Portugal, then the colonial authority in Brasil, outlawed the production and selling of cachaça. Cachaça is made from sugarcane juice and has a sweeter taste than rum, which is made from molasses.

Cabana Cachaca sent over these three recipes for you to try on International Cachaça Day. If you make one of these recipes, let us know in the comments or send us a picture with your creation to be featured on Girly-Drinks.com!
