I was recently introduced to a fun new product: The Ice Jacket. In the simplest of terms, the Ice Jacket allows you to freeze the outside of a liquor bottle for both presentation purposes and service purposes. Instead of a cold liquor bottle from the freezer, you’d have a bottle with a thick layer of ice formed around the outside. The Ice Jacket would be perfect for times when you’re hosting a party and need to leave the liquor on a counter for guests, or even for those times when you’re bringing the libations to a party.

If you’re feeling really creative, the makers of the Ice Jacket also suggest decorating the product – add glitter, flowers, or other theme-specific materials when you’re adding the water to Ice Jacket and watch them freeze around the bottle. A table-top ice sculpture that’s easy to make and fun to drink :)

Why Do I Want One??

The Ice Jacket is fun, authentic and easy to use. Historically, many types of liquor have been enjoyed at the coldest possible temperatures; drinkability increases as temperature drops. Not only does the Ice Jacket keep the content of a bottle from warming once it has been removed from the freezer, it eliminates the need for ice cubes within your beverage. Each time the freezing process is executed a one-of-a-kind presentation is created. The Ice Jacket provides a unique centerpiece for seasonal and theme-specific events.

Is it Easy to Use??

Simple; place a bottle of your favorite libation on the Ice Jacket’s Base-Grip, slip on the Sleeve and close the Clips to create a water-tight seal. Next, fill the assembly to the indicated level, insert the Plug and place overnight within the freezer. Retrieve assembly from freezer, release the Clips, and smirnoff-red-with-rubiesallow to stand briefly before removing the Sleeve. Behold your bottle encased in ice and featuring themes limited only by your imagination.

How Do I Hold It??

The Base-Grip remains attached to the bottom of the frozen assembly. This allows for a simple one-hand pour. For Ice Jacket aficionados with smaller hands, a convenient chill and mess-free pour is executed by placing one hand on the Base-Grip, and another around the bottle’s neck.

Does it Make a Mess??

No; because the liquor has been chilled to such a low temperature, it serves to insulate the ice surrounding the bottle from within. While the Ice Jacket was originally intended to remain out of the freezer for a round or two among friends, when placed into extended service the ice encasing the bottle melts into the Tray at a rate of about an ounce an hour. When the Ice Jacket is enjoyed in conjunction with any sort of party or special event, its content is long gone before the integrity of the assembly is compromised.finlandia-christmas
